None of us can live well without valuing trust—in our own judgment, in those around us, or through earning other’s trust in us.
However, trust is one of the easiest personal qualities to lose. Once lost it is very hard to recover, even when we are surrounded by those who have been trustworthy. Therefore, although we live in a society that does not value trust, any ‘breakdown in trust’ should be of real concern to us.
For many of us, trusting in God is our greatest challenge. Believing in Him may come easy to us, but trusting Him is a whole different matter. Our lack of trust may express itself in our spontaneous anger at Him when the slightest thing goes wrong, when we don’t get our way, or when another person does not listen to us. Or more subtly we may struggle with doubt, or let our low self-worth be the justification to believe that God does not care about us.
This seven session workshop introduces the importance of trust in ourselves and with others. We explore how easily we can lose trust, how hard trust can be to mature, and some ideas on where to start growing in all these areas. If you want to better understand what the Bible teaches, if you struggle yourself with issues of trust, or are helping others with their concerns, this would be a helpful workshop for you.
