God intended that being ourselves should come naturally to us, and result in an overflow of blessing to us and others in the midst of friendship with Him. It’s an inspiring idea, but the reality of our lives is often very different.
Many of us find the pressure of daily life or the burdens of our history leave us with a diluted sense of who we are. Some of us become people pleasers, where we defer to what others think. Perhaps we feel overwhelmed with the pressure to ‘do’ and there seems no time left to ‘be’. Maybe we can’t see the value in being ourselves, or fear becoming arrogant.
During this workshop we explore what a healthy way of being might look like from God’s perspective. We consider how to grow in the awareness that ‘I am fearfully and wonderfully made’ (Ps 139) and what happens when we allow that peace to fill our relationships, including our relationship with God. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are in continual being with each other—what does it look like for them to make their home in us (Jn 14:23)?
Pastor Susan Williams lead our weekend (with a guest appearance from Pastor Peter Holmes) along with our Rapha Women’s Leadership Team from Journey Church.
By the end of the workshop you will have had the opportunity to:
- grow on a journey of greater ease in ‘being’ yourself
- explore the significance of Christ’s invitation to friendship (Jn 15:15)
- discover tools for faithfully becoming more of who you were created to be
- map the hindrances to this journey and plan how to undo them
- increase your capacity to ‘be’, even in the midst of your daily activities
- hear numerous testimonies of healing and/or growth in relationship with the Lord
