Words and Their Power to Curse or Bless

Words can be very powerful, with a remarkable capacity to give life, but also the potential of causing hurt, shame, fear etc., often in a long-lasting way. Few of us ever stop to ask what we might have spoken about ourselves, or what others might have spoken over us that might be working against our growth, our discipleship journey, our healing and wholeness.

Words and their curses can remain hidden but toxic in our life and relationships with others, bearing their own negative fruit. Such words are part of the spiritual and emotional landscape of our lives and also in those we love, until we bring them into the open and spiritually and emotionally remove their damage forever.

In this workshop Pastors Peter Holmes and Susan Williams will cover four areas;

• The power of words to bless and to curse and how this works psychologically and relationally
• An introduction to the wealth of understanding that Scripture gives us
• A space to see how this applies to your own life and to others that you might be supporting
• Setting out the steps clinically and pastorally to move into cleansing from past damage, and to be able to use words with the creative power that God intended
