Conflict is commonplace – in us and around us. And we all have coping mechanisms we have grown to respond to that conflict. What we rarely realize is that those coping mechanism frequently contribute to the conflict, as well as helping us manage it. They are formed in conflict, so they perpetuate the very thing they claim to rescue us from.
In this audio, we focus on identifying and undoing the long-established and often deceptive coping mechanisms that we instinctively rely on. And then step-by-step we map out how to bring about change in a relationship where conflict has found a home. Calling a ceasefire doesn’t need the co-operation of two people. But if that ceasefire isn’t mutual, then preparation is essential and more extensive than any of us realize.
This audio provides supplementary material to complement the workshop Ceasefire: Resolving inner and relational conflict. But listening to that workshop is not needed to make use of this content.
