Betrayal is a particularly painful area of relational damage. When trust is broken, it is not just the resulting pain that we have to deal with – which is often considerable. The repercussions overflow into other relationships of trust, future possibilities of trusting. Healing sometimes feels impossible. Damage often gets buried.
In part 1 of a 2 part series on this topic we explore why betrayal is so challenging to deal with and its prevalence in our lives, acknowledging that we are not only perhaps victims of betrayal, but sometimes others feel that we are the ones that have betrayed them.
