Healing Sibling Relationships, Part 1

We welcome your suggestions and examples for future audios. So please email them through or include them on our forum (for members of our online community), or in the comments below. THANK YOU for taking the time to do this.

One of the most long-standing and influential forms of relationship is between siblings. It often starts when we are at our most vulnerable, it occurs in the privacy of the family home, and is usually full of expectation. The damage that occurs is often unintentional, but can change our identity in a foundational way.

In this audio we survey the landscape of sibling relationships and look at two common problems; comparison and favouritism. We consider whether God intends that we all should have siblings – and look at some of the ‘ideal’ characteristics for these relationships. We explore strategies to find healing from historic bullying or abuse.

If you have sibling relationships, or are a parent seeking to help sibling relationships stay on track, this audio will help you map the landscape and give you ideas for moving forward.

In Part 2, next month, we will dig a little deeper for some ideas when sibling relationships get even more complicated.
